Santa Cruz police are hoping someone will recognize photos of a suspected prowler seen on surveillance video. Police say he has been prowling Eastside neighborhoods between 12 midnight and 3:00 a.m. on multiple occasions.
Homeowners and growers will soon be allowed to burn that pile of leaves and branches. Cal Fire announced Friday that its suspension of burn permits in Monterey and San Benito counties will be lifted on Monday, October 31.
UPDATE 10/28/16 10:15 AM: Tami Hunstman and Gonzalo Curiel were in court Friday, where a new attorney was appointed to represent Huntsman. Scott Erdbacher is a longtime Salinas attorney. A new court hearing will be held on November 16. The trial was set to begin next February, but was cancelled. No new trial date has been set.
It's been more than a year since a federal class action lawsuit over conditions at the Monterey County Jail has been settled.
