SALINAS, Calif. - Deputies with the Monterey County Sheriff's Office are under investigation for drinking alcohol while on duty.
The Sheriff's Office said, a tip came from someone internally about multiple employees drinking while at work. As of now, it's unclear which division the deputies worked but Commander John Thornburg said the deputies were not in uniform during the reported incident.
The internal investigation is still ongoing, but the Sheriff's Office wants the public to know they are not at risk. Sheriff Steve Bernal told KION the investigation is wrapping up soon and no disciplinary action has been taken yet.
