AIDS/LifeCycle riders hit on Highway 1 in Moss Landing

AIDS/Life Cycle bicyclists hit by car

MOSS LANDING, Calif. - CHP officers say that four bicyclists were hit along Hwy 1 in Moss Landing Monday morning. 

The riders are part of the AIDS/LifeCycle Ride to End AIDS that was on the way from Santa Cruz through Salinas and ending in King City for the day.

Officers say a 35-year-old unlicensed driver in a red pickup hit the riders as he was trying to make the turn into the Valero gas station near Struve Road.

Four ambulance units  responded and took the riders to various local hospitals including Watsonville Community Hospital and the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.

The riders were reported to have minor to moderate injuries.
