MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. - Families across the nation celebrate the Fourth of July in many ways, including with fireworks. But agencies want to remind people in Monterey County that all fireworks are banned in unincorporated areas.

Lake San Antonio
Deputies and fire marshals will be patrolling to make sure fireworks are not being used. Possession of illegal and dangerous fireworks can mean a $500-$1000 penalty and one year in jail.
