Man expected to survive after Gonzales shooting

GONZALES, Calif. - Gonzales Police responded to a shooting Monday night just after 9:00 pm, on the 900 block of Alta Street.

Police say a 38 year old man was walking near his home on Belden and 9th Streets when he heard 3 or 4 shots and felt something hit his leg.

He knocked on a neighbor's door asking for help, and 911 was called. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive.

No arrests have been made, but anyone with information is encouraged to call police. No word yet on whether the shooting is gang-related.
