SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas' Tatum's Garden has been rated as the second most impressive accessible and inclusive playground in the world.
The Tatum's Garden Foundation, founded by Shawn and Amanda Bakker last year, said the designation came from Special Education Degrees.
According to Special Education Degrees, a national resource center for Special Education, a fully accessible and inclusive playground like Tatum's Garden is a place that everyone can enjoy the exhilaration and magic of play and no child is left on the sidelines.
The president of the Tatum's Garden Foundation said they are so proud of the community and what they have accomplishment together to make the playground a reality.
Special Education Degrees highlighted 30 fully inclusive playgrounds from around the world. A complete list of the other 29 accessible playgrounds can be found here.
Tatum's Garden brings a one-of-a-kind, shoulder-to-shoulder play experience to the children of Monterey County, and their families, regardless of ability.
