SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas police say the Vitamin Store Health Center on North Main Street was robbed around noon Tuesday by a white man believed to be in his 40s.
The man entered the store to ask about vitamins, but then demanded money from the clerk. Witnesses told police he held his waistband as though he had a gun but no weapon was seen. He took off with an undetermined amount of money.
He was wearing a gray beanie, dark blue pants, a gray long-sleeved shirt and a white T-shirt. He was last seen running southbound on North Main Street. Police are still investigating.
