While the million-dollar cars are being shown down the street in Pebble Beach, the multi-thousand dollar cars were shown today in Pacific Grove. The smaller cars were rolled out for the seventh annual Little Car Show!
The 2016 Little Car Show featured around 120 "compact" cars that are at least 25 years or older. American vehicles were this year's theme though entries from all over the world were accepted. The event and some proceeds go back into the community. The organizer says he started the show not long after he read an article several years ago.
"I read an article in Hemming's magazine about a show that was similar, and they've been doing it for years and I thought we need something like that, and that's where it came from," said event organizer, John Moulton.
"We love it I mean, look at all these beautiful cars. This is probably the best show on the Peninsula, bar none," said participant, Larry Steffan.
"You feel like you can get close to it. You don't feel like you need to be standing there with your hands behind you, and at a proper distance. You feel like you can get close to the whole thing," said Pacific Grove Mayor, Bill Kampe.
He says the first little car show featured around 40 total cars. That number has now tripled.
