MORGAN HILL, Calif. - Police say the 27-year-old who was hit by a vehicle Wednesday on Monterey Road and Third Street laid down in one of the lanes before he was struck.
Witnesses told officers that he was walking along the roadway before he stopped and laid down.
That man suffered major head trauma and was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle who hit the man wasn't injured and is cooperating with the investigation. Police say he doesn't appear to have been intoxicated.
