Salinas first responders set to hold 9/11 ceremony

SALINAS, Calif. - Here on the Central Coast, Salinas Fire and Police are remembering 9/11 with a memorial and police inspection. The parking lot at the Salinas PAL Armory is the stage for the ceremony. We Will Never Forget; that's the message Monday morning as city police and fire come together to pay tribute to all those that lost their lives during the attacks.  The entire community is invited to come out and show solidarity with the first responders.

"We will have music, we will have some short speeches, we will have a ringing of the bells by the fire department. I will also share a few words. They will see us united. And we are asking for the publics support in this," said Salinas Police Chief, Adele Frese.

The chief says in addition to paying tribute, they'll also demonstrate their state of readiness to protect and defend the city of Salinas.

The ceremony will begin at 7:30 Monday morning, followed by a reception in the PAL Youth Center. Come early, parking is tight as there are many restrictions on where you can park.
