HOLLISTER, Calif. - Hollister police have identified the victim who was shot and killed on Friday night.

Chief David Westrick said Ariana Zendejas, 19, was shot in the area of West and B streets and later died at Hazel Hawkins Hospital.

Police are seeking 20-year-old Jose Barajas in connection with her death. He's described as 5'9", 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Barajas has a tattoo of a "B" and a skull on his left forearm and skulls on his right forearm.

He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police said he may have a 20-year-woman identified as Vanessa Flores with him. They do not know if she is being held against her will. Officer believe Flores knows the suspect and that she may have witnessed the shooting.

Flores' mother reached out to to New Channel 5 and said she believes her daughter is being held against her will.

Barajas was last seen in a late model, silver or gray KIA, mid-sized SUV.
