Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office seeking community members for new advisory team

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office is putting together a new advisory team, and volunteers are being sought.

The Sheriff's Advisory Team will consist of community members throughout the county, from all walks of life, who will meet monthly with Sheriff-Elect Jim Hart to discuss law enforcement issues in the area.

Volunteers will be selected from all five county Board of Supervisors districts, residents of each of the four cities, and people working in the health, treatment, faith, education and business professions.

The Sheriff's Advisory Team will be selected by Aug. 1, and will meet the first Wednesday of each month, starting Sept. 3.
