SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The interior of the Town Clock in Santa Cruz is now illuminated thanks to a donation from the Surf City Santa Cruz Kiwanis Club.
The light and a plaque were installed in memory of Sergeant Butch Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler, who were killed in the line of duty in February of 2012.
Police Chief Kevin Vogel, Kelly Baker, Kiwanis president Bert Bly, and Bob Dewitt were on hand for the dedication and installation.
Kiwanis member Ricard Emigh was the driving force behind the project, according to Santa Cruz Police. Robert Matthews was the installer.
