WATSONVILLE, Calif. - Watsonville police on Thursday were working on tips that the subject of a nine-hour standoff has been spotted in Aromas and Hollister.
Members of the police department's SWAT entered a large Victorian home on West Beach Street around 9 p.m. Wednesday night, but were unable to locate the suspect 26-year-old Ramiro Castillo.
Castillo is wanted for attempted murder in connection with a June 3rd shooting on Grant Street near Marchant and Elm.
Police went to Castillo's father's apartment Wednesday, located at a home containing five apartments total. Officers told Central Coast News they were working off information they had on Castillo, but he didn't live at the home.
The standoff prompted the evacuation of other residences in the area.
Officers said the layout of the house would have made it very easy for Castillo to sneak out the back. They believe he has accomplices.
Police arrested two of Castillo's roommates Monday -- Henry Daniel Lopez, 21, and Alejandro Lopez Delgadillo, 28, -- on suspicion of attempted murder.
Central Coast News reporter Cassandra Arsenault will have more on this story on KION's evening newscasts Thursday.
