Santa Cruz man arrested after threatening to kill relative

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - A Santa Cruz man was arrested after threatening to kill a relative inside a home. 

According to Santa Cruz Police, 61-year-old Glen Eikenbary pointed a .22 caliber gun at one of his relative's chest and told him he would kill him. Another relative ran and barricaded himself inside a room and called 911. 

The incident took place Friday, September 8, around 5:39 p.m. on the 400 block of Plateau Avenue. The SCPD's Crisis Negotiation Team was able to negotiate with Eikenbary and convinced him to come out of the house. 

Officers located the gun used in the assault in the living room area and found several other guns inside the home. 

Eiekenbary was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threat with intent to terrorize.
