SOLEDAD, Calif. - Police said they responded to the area of Vosti Avenue and Fifth Street in Soledad for a possible victim of a shooting just after 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
When officers got there, they found a man lying on the front yard of a corner home.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Natividad Medical Center. where he was pronounced dead, police said.
His identity has not yet been released.
Police said several witnesses called to report what sounded like multiple gunshots in the 1600 block of Vosti Avenue. Witnesses described the possible suspect as a thin Hispanic man who is approximately 5 feet 10 inches. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded top, a white or light gray bandanna covering his face and was wearing dark gray or black shorts, police said.
Soledad police are investigating the homicide and are asking anyone with information to call 831-223-5121.
