Stabbing Suspect Arrested, Found Hiding Under Blanket

WATSONVILLE, Calif. -  Police are investigating a stabbing Thursday night at the Wall Street Inn.

When officers arrived, they found a 51-year old man laying in a stairwell suffering from a stab wound to the arm. Medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to the Watsonville Community Hospital, where he was treated and later released.

According to police, the investigation revealed the victim and the suspect knew each other. The suspect was later identified as Terry Lee Spann. Officials say the two had been together earlier in the day and ended up in an argument that turned into a physical altercation. Both parties went their separate ways, but police say they later met at the suspect's residence on West Beach Street. Police say Spann then pulled out a knife and attacked the victim. Following the stabbing, police say the suspect fled on foot.

About two hours later, Watsonville police responded to reports of a subject hiding under a blanket in a carport. When officers arrived, they located Spann. He was subsequently arrested for the stabbing and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
