Suspects in Watsonville armed robbery remain at large

WATSONVILLE, Calif. - The search continues for suspects in an attempted armed robbery and shooting that happened Monday night.

At about 11:30, Watsonville Police Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of E. Lake Ave. for the report of a person being held with a gun to their head. 

When the victim was found by officers, the driver told them he had been held at gunpoint by two suspects who tried to rob him while he was seated in his truck. 

The victim told the suspects he did not have any money and drove away as soon as he could. One of the suspects was armed with a semi-automatic handgun. That suspect fired a round in the victim’s direction but the victim was not hit.

The victim then fled from the area in his vehicle. The suspects were last seen running south down Manor Ave. Officers located a shell casing at the scene and canvassed the area for the suspects but they were not found.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males between the ages of 20-30. One is said to be 5'11" tall last seen wearing a gray hoodie and red bandana covering his face. The other is about 5'10" last seen wearing a black sweatshirt.
