Thousands of dollars worth of fireworks stolen in King City

KING CITY, Calif. - Less than 24-hours before the King City firework show, police said a couple of thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of fireworks.

According to King City PD an officer was patrolling down the 800 block of Broadway Street when he noticed a suspicious person walking with a sack. KCPD Chief Robert Masterson said the officer made a u-turn towards the King City Chamber of Commerce fireworks stands where the officer found a suspect running out of the shed.

The department said they believe the suspects cut the locks on the sheds around 11:15 p.m. Monday night.

KCPD doesn’t know exactly how many fireworks were taken but the dollar amount could be somewhere in the six to seven thousand dollar range.
