SALINAS, Calif. - Three gang members are off the streets of Salinas as part of an operation involving police and Homeland Security investigators.
The Violence Suppression Unit was monitoring a stolen car in the 500 block of Alameda early Thursday morning. When officers approached one person inside a home where it was parked went out the back.
That person reached for his waistband, but stopped when he was ordered to by officers. A gun then fell from his waistband.
Three confirmed gang members were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail. The stolen car was also returned to its owner.
