Two arrested after SWAT operation in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. - An early morning SWAT operation led to the arrest of two men in Salinas. 

According to Salinas Police, the first arrest took place Thursday in the 1400 block of Amador Circle. 35-year-old Benjamin Castillo was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale. Officers found several pounds of marijuana and some cocaine. 

Salinas PD SWAT and Monterey County Sheriff's also served a search warrant in the 1200 block of Ramona Avenue. That's where 25-year-old Eduardo Manriquez was arrested for being a gang member in possession of a gun. Manriquez also had a felony warrant out for his arrest for violating his probation. 

The arrests come just 48 hours after another man was busted for possessing a loaded gun and drugs in the 1300 block of East Market Street. 

Both Castillo and Manriquez were booked into the Monterey County Jail.
