KING CITY, Calif. - UPDATE: 3/8/2018 1:47 p.m. A man accused of stabbing his girlfriend in King City has been arrested.
The incident occurred on February 20 in the 100 block of Division Street. Officers responded to a domestic violence call and found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
23-year-old suspect, Giovanni Velasquez was able to get away from police.
On Thursday, March 8, officers with the King City Police Department, along with members of the MADCAT Task Force, Monterey County Sheriff's, the California Highway Patrol and State Parole Agents were able to locate Velasquez in the 300 block of S. Vanderhurst and take him into custody.
Velasquez was booked in the Monterey County Jail with a no bail parole hold.
Police are looking for a King City man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend during a dispute.
On Tuesday night, officers responded to a domestic violence incident in the 100 block of Division Street in King City. When officers arrived they found a woman suffering multiple stab wounds.
Cpt. Allen Rowe said the woman had been stabbed by her boyfriend 23-year-old Giovanni Velasquez who is also the father of her child.
Velasquez took off in a grey 2000 Toyota Solara driven by 24-year-old transient, Alonzo Marquez. The California Highway Patrol stopped Marquez on Highway 101 near Canal Street.
Marquez was taken into custody but Velasquez took off running and remains at large.
Velasquez girlfriend was taken to a local trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.
Velasquez is wanted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Domestic Violence, Child Endangerment, Destroying/Concealing Evidence, Delaying/Obstructing Officer.
"If (Velasquez) is seen, contact law enforcement immediately," said Cpt. Rowe.
