WATSONVILLE, Calif. - A man suspected of a stabbing along the Pajaro River levee in Watsonville has been arrested.
According to Watsonville Police, the stabbing took place near the river in the area of E. Front Street and Main Street on November 19 around 6:52 a.m. The victim was able to get away from the suspect and made his way to the police station before collapsing onto the pavement.
Officers transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The victim later told police he knew the suspect, 37-year-old transient , Mario Padilla and that Padilla was with two other guys when he was stabbed and had his bike taken.
On November 30, officers located Padilla at the Pajaro River levee west of Sakata Lane. Padilla tried to run from police by crossing the river but was taken into custody.
