Lori Pinto, RN, became the patient after years of being a nurse when she underwent treatment for breast cancer.
Lori Pinto says her family and friends were essential as she battled breast cancer.
"Although our stories are somewhat different, we are all there to support each other with courage and hope and I no longer feel misunderstood," Johnson said. "It's "Women helping Women" our support group, the women who are breast cancer warriors, that are making the difference in my life."
Lori Pinto, RN, was training for the Salinas Valley Half-Marathon when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Julie Johnson has been a nurse at SVMHS for 27 years. She was diagnosed with breast cancer a little more than a year ago.
