PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - It's a busy time of year for the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, as they gear up to host the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
"It's our last week in the office. We move out to the property on Friday so everything we need arrives this week to the office," said Monterey Peninsula Foundation Chief Executive Officer and Tournament Director Steve John.
Tournament Director Steve John said this year will be one to remember.
"You always want to improve. The field is one area we'd really focus on, also celebrities, athletes, and the pros. This year we hit the jackpot," said John.
Justin Timberlake, Mark Wahlberg, and Toby Keith are just some of the big names that will be taking over the greens.
"Our pro field is outstanding with six of the top ten in the world," said John.
The week-long event couldn't be possible without volunteers.
"It's the granddaddy of all Pro-Am's, and you got a chance to participate and know that your work is going to the communities," said John.
The Carmel Youth Center has been providing volunteers since 1949, and the need has grown.
"Our job is entirely about organizing and mobilizing volunteers. More than eight hundred shifts, the shifts are four hours long," said Executive Director of the Carmel Youth Center E Griffin-Ortiz.
And like they say, no good deed ever goes unnoticed.
"In exchange for donating your time. When you're done working up a little sweat you get to take off your badge and just enjoy the event," said Griffin-Ortiz.
All volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
