SALINAS, Calif. (KION) If you want to keep your home germ-free during the coronavirus pandemic, we have some tips for how to create a "germ zone" to keep them from coming in.

First things first, pick an entrance where everyone in your household is going to use and stick with it.

Once you’ve decided what entrance you’re using marked off your “germ zone” with tape to set. It’s also important to keep it clutter-free and regularly wipe down with a disinfectant.

Keep your grocery bags in the area, if they are reusable make sure to wash after every use. You can keep rags there to wipe the sole of your shoes before going into your house.

Hang your key or keep them in a container with other items that need to be wiped down and disinfected.

These days we’re are even nervous to head to the grocery store because we’re heard of cases where grocery store workers have tested positives for COVID-19.

Having a "germ zone" by the door can give a family peace of mind.
