Illegal marijuana grow found in San Benito County after report of assault

SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION) The San Benito County Sheriff's Office said deputies found an illegal marijuana grow after a report of an assault last week.

Deputies were called to the 20000 block of Panche Road for a report of a man with a gun who assaulted a male victim. The suspect in the assault drove away, but he was found later. In his vehicle, deputies said they found two loaded guns, drug paraphernalia and almost 32 grams of meth.

The Sheriff's Office got a search warrant for the suspect's property, and deputies said they found 33 grams of meth, multiple guns, drug paraphernalia and an illegal marijuana grow.

The grow is being disassembled. The suspect was booked into the San Benito County Jail and charged with carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed, assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and exhibiting a gun in a threatening way.
