Sen. Bernie Sanders releases video aimed at California PG&E customers promoting Green New Deal

Sen. Bernie Sanders

(KION) Sen. Bernie Sanders, one of the Democratic presidential candidates, released a video on Twitter Thursday aimed at California voters.

The video focuses on wildfires caused by PG&E's equipment failures and shares the stories of Californians affected by the fires.

It also promotes Sanders' Green New Deal. Sanders said the deal would transform the country's energy system to 100% renewable energy, create 20 million jobs, declare climate change a national emergency and more.

"Bernie promises to go further than any other presidential candidate in history to end the fossil fuel industry's greed, including by making the industry pay for its pollution and prosecuting it for the damage it caused," according to Sanders' website.

One of the speakers in the video describes Sanders' Green New Deal as "the most comprehensive and aggressive environmental package" out there.

The California presidential primaries are set for March 3.
