Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested for looting in CZU Lightning Complex evacuation area

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) A man has been arrested for looting during a state of emergency, prowling and entering an emergency zone, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy found the suspect, Zachary Tuscon, and said he admitted to entering a burned property on Pine Flat Road with the intention of taking items.

The Sheriff's Office said deputies are still patrolling fire-impacted areas and are asking people to stay away from the areas if they do not live there.
