MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. - Three people were taken to the hospital following a DUI crash involving teens in Monterey County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Margot McNally was speeding and drunk driving in a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder on Carmel Valley Road when she crashed head on into a white GMC Suburban Thursday night.
CHP said the GMC's engine compartment caught fire.
McNally, her unconscious 16-year-old passenger and a 69-year-old Carmel Valley woman inside the SUV were transported to Natividad hospital.
"We are working with Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) to determine where McNally and her passenger were able to obtain the alcohol," said Officer Murillo.
McNally's passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and remains in critical condition.
McNally was arrested for driving under the influence and causing great bodily injury.
